Here at MarketNet, we love Woopra. It’s far and away our favorite web analytics tool for live stats and streaming data. It doesn’t take contact lenses to see the value once you’ve experienced a demo of the dashboard functionality. Some of it’s features really shine on a blog format, but we’ve found its live streaming data to be useful for any site.
You can watch the video of John’s presentation here, or you can read below to get the summary of changes coming soon to the Woopra Community.
1. Woopra will be soon no longer be a “beta” system. After two years of testing, Woopra is ready to open up.
2. Instant access to Woopra post-sign up. During beta, sites had to be submitted for approval. That approval process could take anywhere from a day to several weeks. Now there is an option for instant activation.
3. Instant Access is granted to paying users only. Yes, there is a catch to the previous statement. There are now levels of membership available. John promises more free accounts will be made available, but these will be issued through the Woopra community for existing members to hand out.
4. All beta testers will be migrated into the new FREE account plan. Some higher-end users will run into usage limits and need to join a paid plan to see all of their traffic.
5. Moving from daily pageview count system to monthly. This will allow some sites with peak days (Digg effect) to maintain a lower paid or free account.
6. Lowest price point is $5/month. Even though the original plan was to offer a $10/month plan as the bottom tier, Woopra is making this pricing model extremely affordable. This is a gamble on the part of Woopra. They’ll make their profits on bulk memberships. John calls upon existing beta users to upgrade to help ensure that Woopra reaches cash flow neutral status.
7. Many planned feature upgrades are contingent upon financial status. Every dollar earned above the bare minimum necessary for costs will go to planned improvements and upgrades to the service.
If you’re new to Woopra or haven’t heard of them before, let us know in the comments below and, if we get enough feedback, we’ll put together an introduction to Woopra post in the days ahead. It’s easy to see why they’re growing so fast.
